Disappointment
Another kick in the nuts for Detroit sports fans. I'm sure it's common knowledge by now that OSU will play Florida in the championship game this season. A little over a month ago we had to deal with our pitchers not named Kenny Rogers throwing the World Series away with their terrible fielding. Earlier this year the Pistons and Red Wings both took the best regular season record in their respective sports into the playoffs and came out with nothing. Adding insult to injury the Lions continue to be the doormat of the NFL while GM/President Matt Millen gets a contract extension. Although this bothers me very little as I grew callous to the Lions during my years as a season ticket holder. Thank God I woke up three years ago and decided not to buy the tickets anymore.
Those disappointments were tough on the fans, but those teams all played poorly to bring it upon themselves. UM getting sodomized in favor of Florida is tough for the fans, but it's got to be much worse for the players who did all they could to prove they were one of the top two teams in the country, losing just one game. By just three points. To unanimous number one team in the nation. Oh yeah, that #1 team had home field advantage. In one of the toughest places to play as a road team.
I may be a little biased here because I have seen every UM game this year except for the one that ESPN put on their college channel that no one subscribes to....btw, I hate what ABC has done to ESPN....and I have seen how freaking good of a team they are. That being said, I wonder how many people out there who have had a chance to see a lot from both teams think that Florida would have any shot at beating Michigan in a game. I've talked to a few people who have said that Florida should go over Michigan, but most of them also didn't think that Florida would beat Michigan if they played.
"So Michigan should be ranked higher than Florida?"
"No, they already had a chance to play Ohio State. There shouldn't be a rematch."
"So Florida deserves to go to the #1 vs #2 game as the #3 team in the nation?"
"What do you mean?"
I may be a little bitter.
